Ahmed Abou Hashima’s journey has extended from industry and investment into public service, where he contributes to advancing Egypt’s development through his political and parliamentary responsibilities.

Public service represents a natural extension of Ahmed Abou Hashima’s career in industry and investment. This reflects his belief that contributing to nation-building is not limited to investing and establishing businesses, but also includes participating in the formulation of public policy and supporting legislation that serves the national economy and advances the country’s development.

In 2020, he assumed the position of Deputy Chairman of the Republican People’s Party and was subsequently elected as a Member of the Egyptian Senate. In this role, he has drawn on his extensive economic and industrial experience to contribute to discussions on national priorities and key economic and legislative matters.

Throughout his parliamentary career, he has held several significant positions. He began by serving as First Deputy Chairman of the Senate Committee on Industry, Trade, and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. He was later elected Chairman of the Senate Committee on Youth and Sports, before being elected in October 2025 as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Financial, Economic and Investment Affairs, one of the Senate’s most prominent specialized committees responsible for discussing economic policies and legislation relating to investment, public finance, and economic development.

Through his leadership of the Committee, he oversees discussions on a range of draft laws and major economic issues. He also works to support legislation that contributes to improving the investment climate, strengthening the competitiveness of the Egyptian economy, and supporting national industry, in alignment with the state’s objectives for sustainable development.

Ahmed Abou Hashima also places particular emphasis on youth empowerment, based on his conviction that young people represent the driving force behind Egypt’s future. This commitment is reflected in his initiatives and positions supporting entrepreneurship, as well as his efforts to create opportunities for young people to participate in development and play an active role in shaping the future.
