Mr. Ahmed Abou Hashima was recognized by “Business Today Magazine†for his “Outstanding Leadership & Business Excellenceâ€, and Egyptian Steel Group for its "innovational technology and eco-friendly production†as it has been listed among the top 50 companies operating in the Egyptian market for the year 2017 during the ceremony “BT 100â€. The BT 100 event was organized by Business Today magazine to announce the top 50 companies and the 50 most influential figures in the Egyptian economy for the year 2017. More than 600 prominent figures attended the event; representing the economic sector leaders and a number of ministers headed by Amr Al-Jarhi, Minister of Finance, Dr. Mustafa Madbouli, Minister of Housing, Minister of Electricity, Dr. Sahar Nasr, Minister of Investment and International Cooperation, Eng. Yasser El Qady, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Dr. Ahmed Emad El Din Rady, Minister of Health and Population. UNIDO Recognizes Ahmed Abou Hashima at the Arab Youth Forum
Under the patronage of President Abd El Fatah Al Sisi, the UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization) recognized Mr. Ahmed Abou Hashima, CEO of Egyptian Steel Group, for his efforts in sustainable development as well as the green strategy under which Egyptian Steel operates. The event was held at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in cooperation with the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transportation. The conference revolves around innovative approaches to green growth and job creation in the MENA region. During the event a documentary about Ahmed Abou Hashima and Egyptian Steel’s activities in the field of sustainable community development was displayed. The documentary showed the group’s initiative to revamp the neediest villages in Upper Egypt, supporting and encouraging the talented youth in the fields of sport, industry and technology, also the documentary displayed the ecofriendly technology used in Egyptian Steel Group’s plants.

Under the patronage of the International Organization for Standardization “ISOâ€, Mr. Ahmed Abou Hashima has been recognized as the Quality Knight for Humanitarian Purposes during the International Quality Knights Festival in its thirteenth season. Eng. Tarek Hemdan President of the festival handed Mr. Abou Hashima the trophy. Mr. Ahmed received this prestigious recognition not only for being a prominent businessman in the industry sector but for his pioneer role in serving the community and achieving sustainable development referring to the initiative of Egyptian Steel Group to revamp  the neediest villages in Upper Egypt which was launched by Mr. Ahmed Abou Hashima in June 2014 and it delivered 7 villages so far, in addition to his CSR activities that aim to develop the Egyptian society and the poor villages particularly.

According to the organization’s announcement, Mr. Abou Hashima has been appointed from July 10th, 2015 to December 31st, 2016. The Multipurpose Inter-Parliamentary Union’s activities focus on reinforcing peace between different global societies by defending the principals of human rights, supporting political dialogue and protecting media freedom.

Egyptian Steel Group headed by businessman Ahmed Abou Hashima got the 15th ranking in the list and was the only company listed from Egypt.
