Ahmed Abou Hashima Announces Landmark Partnership to Establish Major Solar Energy Hub in Suez Canal Economic Zone

CAIRO, EGYPT – In a significant move to advance Egypt’s renewable energy ambitions, prominent industrialist Ahmed Abou Hashima has announced the launch of a landmark project to establish a comprehensive industrial hub for producing solar panels, cells, and energy storage solutions within the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone).

The project is a powerful international consortium, forged in partnership with global industry leaders including JA Solar (China)Global South Utilities (UAE), and Infinity Capital (Bahrain).

The official contract for the project’s land allocation was signed in a high-profile ceremony held at the Egyptian Cabinet headquarters. The signing was honored by the presence of His Excellency Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, alongside Eng. Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Transport, and Mr. Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone. Their attendance underscores the project’s strategic national importance and the robust support it has from the Egyptian state.

This ambitious initiative is set to become a cornerstone of Egypt’s green energy transition. By localizing the manufacturing of critical renewable energy components, the project will significantly enhance the local content in the energy sector, reduce reliance on imports, and create thousands of direct and indirect job opportunities for Egyptian youth.
